Krisna Home Stay is located in Jungutbatu, the main town of Nusa Lembongan island. It is situated down a little street running parallel to the main Jalan Jungutbatu, towards the beach. Restaurants, hotels, small grocery stores and various diving schools can be found near by.
Despite its name, the establishment is not a home stay. The rooms are accessed via a gate that is tailor-made for the guests and nobody else lives on site.
The location is peaceful as it is set back from the busy main street where scooters whizz by non-stop but it is close to the beach, which is convenient.
The accommodation only has 3 rooms. The ones with AC costed, during our stay and according to the current exchange rate, €14.7 (IDR 250,000) per night whilst the room with fan only was €10.3 (IDR 175,000) per night breakfast excluded. As for the services, bike and motorbike rentals are available and the place has a rather good WIFI connection.
There is no reception to speak of. When we arrived, the hotel owner was putting the finishing touches to our bedroom. He had sent us an email a few minutes prior to let us know that the room was ready and to ask when we would be arriving and if we needed to be picked up. He was very responsive via email, and in person he was smiley, friendly and keen to chat with us in English.
We had reserved a room with a fan, which was 16m². It was very clean and came with a big double bed, desk, wardrobe with safe, fan, adaptor, and fairly thin curtains and window coverings. There was also the option to use the AC for an extra €2.9 (IDR 50,000) per night. The bathroom was indoors and was equipped with a cold water shower only (considering the price: €10.3 i.e. IDR 175,000 per night! It’s well worth the compromise!). Towels were provided but not the soap.
What nights did we spend?
We slept well, even though the heat was difficult to deal with. We would recommend choosing a room with AC. The area is quiet apart from the far off crowing cockerels. You won’t hear the noise from the scooters, as the home stay is quite far away from the busy Jalan Jungutbatu.
The curtains do let in the light of the day so make sure to bring an eye mask.
We really enjoyed our stay here: clean room, peaceful setting (what a joy!), “cold” shower (which wasn’t actually that cold and quite pleasant considering the heat) and good WIFI.
If you are on a tight budget, you can pair this great value home stay with some meals at the Green Garden Warung located just a few minutes’ walk away. Believe us: your wallet will be smiling!
