A gem in Canggu!

Kubu Betel Home Stay is situated in Canggu with 3 bedrooms at about 800 metres from the beach. The neighbourhood is quiet and authentic. There are also a few warungs and grocery stores nearby.

During our stay and according to the current exchange rate, the price per night in a Double Room was about €15.7 (IDR 270,000).

The home stay is run by a lovely Balinese family who live just next to the rooms (but behind a wall). Therefore, it is more of a guesthouse than a home stay. Regardless, the family are available at any time and the young man in charge of running the rooms is very welcoming and speaks good English.

The rooms are located in small houses separated from one another and each with a terrace.

A Deluxe Double Room
View from the terrace

Our Deluxe Double Room was well equipped: big double bed, wardrobe with hanging rail, fridge, bottle-openers, flat screen television and satellite TV, AC, travel adaptor, thick curtains and window coverings. The private and indoor bathroom is large and contains a hot water shower (with great water pressure) and towels. A glass door separates the bedroom and the bathroom with blinds fixed on the door for more privacy. However, soap is not included.

In addition, the room is decorated and furnished with taste. One feels at ease in the space and the blend between the modern and the more traditional style works a treat.

The establishment offers bike rentals and has an excellent WIFI connection (fibre optic which is rare in Bali!) as well as a shared kitchen, which can be used by all of the guests. There is also a water dispenser available, a hob, a toasted sandwich maker and kitchen utensils. You can help yourself to tea and coffee. It is perfect for making yourself breakfast (which is not included in the price for the night). Finally, the kitchen is very clean.

What nights did we spend?

We spent some very pleasant nights here: the bedding is comfortable, the sheets smell fresh, the curtains keep the light out and the neighbourhood is quiet.

We loved our stay here! We felt very at ease. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean and neat. The shared kitchen was very convenient and the WIFI connection was speedy. Moreover, the family are very friendly and smiley. In the end, the only small issue we had was the fact that there was only one plug socket in the room, which, we are sure you’ll agree, is not a major concern!
