Peaceful and close to Echo Beach
Echoland Bed & Breakfast is situated 250 metres away from the famous Echo Beach.
During our stay and according to the current exchange rate, the prices started at €23.1 (IDR 400,000) per night for a Limited Standard room with fan and at €27.7 (IDR 480,000) with AC. Deluxe Double Rooms were also available.
The area is pleasant as there aren’t many hotels and restaurants in the surroundings, contrary to what we would have expected being close to the beach. Echo beach, with its big waves, is popular with both Balinese and Western surfers. However, if you like swimming in calm waters, Echo Beach is not the ideal location.
The establishment also boasts a refreshing swimming pool (as it is often shaded), as well as WIFI connection - though sometimes a bit buggy. Plenty of services are offered: scooter rentals, yoga classes, surfing lessons…

The staff are very friendly, smiley and always willing to chat with the clients in English.
The rooms span over 2 floors (the ground floor and the first floor) and on the second floor is a terrace where breakfast is served and where yoga classes take place three times a week.
Our Limited Standard AC Room was fairly small (15 m²) and was comprised of a double bed with wooden headboard, two bedside tables, air conditioning and a ceiling fan, a flat-screen television, a hanging rail, a safe and an adaptor. The room was equipped with venetian blinds, which enabled us to limit the amount of light let in in the morning. Finally, there was a private and outside bathroom with hot water, soap and towels.

The overall design is modern but at the same time has features from traditional Balinese villages, such as bamboo. Altogether, it is in good taste and makes for a very pleasant atmosphere.
The establishment is able to lend baby beds, however spare fold-up beds for children are not available.
Breakfast is included in the price and is served on the terrace. It consisted of a hot drink, a glass of fruit juice or a bowl of fruit with or without yoghurt and the choice between an Indonesian, Continental or Italian breakfast. When we were staying, sadly we weren’t able to try the Indonesian breakfast as the kitchen was undergoing building works (to extend it). We chose the Continental breakfast (2 eggs and toast) and the Italian breakfast (2 eggs on a slice of bread with pesto, tomato and spinach). Both were delicious and the portions were generous. It was a nice surprise!

What night did we spend?
We slept very well in this hotel. The bedding was confortable and only a little bit of light came through with the venetian blinds, which is a quite a rarity in Bali. How wonderful!
We really enjoyed our stay here: the room was clean and nicely decorated, the breakfast was delicious and generous, the swimming pool was refreshing, the beach was only a stone’s throw away and the staff were friendly. However, we missed having a fridge and a kettle in the room, and the lack of deckchairs around the pool as well as the buggy WIFI was noticeable. A few small flaws that are far from being problematic.
