According to a study performed by Liligo in 2018, several tricks are to be known to pay less for your flight tickets:
- The best day to book your flight tickets seems to be on a Thursday. For a long distance-flight (from Europe to Bali for instance), booking on a Friday could also work. But avoid booking on a Saturday or Sunday at all costs!
- The best timing is to make your reservation at least 5 months in advance.
According to another study, the best time to book flight tickets would be around 5 a.m. and the worst time between 7 to 10pm.
In short, it is better to book when other travellers don’t: during the week instead of the weekend and very early in the morning.
Our last advice: be very flexible regarding your travel dates and extend your research to the whole month as prices can widely vary depending on the selected day.
